What's happening at Dubshed...all your questions answered :)

Recommended Posts

Well folks, only one week to go until Dubshed and we at GTINI thought we should give you a bit of an insight into what's happening all weekend and basically how the show works. We'll break this into categories for you so it is easier to read :) Saturday 26th March 11.30am - Pre show coast run This is a tour led by our very own Mr Maynard where you will be led up round the Antrim Coast for some breathtaking scenery, fun roads and an ice cream at the end of it. Those who wish to take part drop us an email to dubshed@gtini.com or phone Simon Maynard on +447900060102 8.30pm til late - Pre show party at Scratch niteclub in Belfast GTINI have accquired exclusive use of the VIP area in Scratch for Dubshed participants 8) Contact Ricky Mayne for any enquiries relating to this +447796376599 Scratch location - click here Sunday 27th March - SHOW DAY! Cost to get into show Show and Shine entry - £10 per car and driver Passenger with show and shine entry - £3 per person Spectator - £3 Parking for non show and shine entrants - £4 (charged by RUAS) Entry fees will be collected at the gate on the way in. 8.30am - Gates open to indoor exhibitors only. It is important we get all the indoor exibitors in position before 10.00am 9.30am - Gates open to outdoor exhibitors 10.00am - Access to indoor displays closes for indoor exhibitors. If you are not here by this time you will lose your spot! 11.00am - Outdoor exhibitors must all be in position 12.30pm - 2.30pm - Judging will take place. Make sure and have your judging sheets filled in and handed back to the GTINI merchandise stall to the front of the stage in the main Alexander Hall. Include your registration, colour and registration of your car and your full name. 3.00pm - 4.00pm - Car limbo. For those who don't know what this is, it's basically a high jump only the car drives under it instead of jumping it ( ), the lowest car to get under without knocking the cane down wins! Simples! There will be two classes, static, for cars on a shock and spring setup and a class for those running air suspension. The competition is sponsored by Rayvern Hydraulics. To enter this please send your application to dubshed@gtini.com or phone Gethin Evans on +447525667570. We have to limit this to 10 cars for insurance purposes. 4.30pm - Charity raffle including the Dubshed Polo, sponsored by JK Autospares, Sound In Motion, BK Detailing, Agnews Volkswagen, Motoglass and Motorsport and Spares 4.50pm - Slideshow prize giving. Classes include the following with runner up in each class except car limbo; Mk1 Golf Mk2 Golf Mk3 Golf Mk4 Golf Mk5 Golf Mk6 Golf Bora / Jetta Beetle ( watercooled ) Skoda Seat Porsche Caddy Cabby Aircooled Corrado/Sirocco Passat Polo Lupo/Arosa Audi Best in Show - Sponsored by United Motorsport Show and shine - Sponsored by Pro Car Girlie Car Best Rat Sponsors choice Car limbo - static and air - Sponsored by Rayvern Hydraulics 5.30 - close of show. We may get finished up sooner than this but there is a busy schedule during the day! Cool FM DJ Ryan A and big Shane from Vagdrivers will be spinning the discs to keep a cool, chilled out and relaxed vibe throughout the show. We must stress how important it is to get your judging sheets filled in and handed back! Your car will not and cannot be judged otherwise! The judging sheets will be handed to you at the gate on the way in so probably best fill them in as soon as you get into the show and hand them back in to the GTINI merchandise stall at the front of the stage in the main Alexander Hall ! List of Traders present at this year's event, bring plenty of money with you! :) In addition to this list, infamous in the aircooled scene, Nefarious will also be in attendance doing some live demos of pinstriping JK Autospares 294 Albertbridge Road, Belfast, County Down 028 9080 9010 www.jkautospares.co.uk Motoglass Balmoral Rd Belfast, County Antrim BT12 6QA 028 9066 6077 www.motoglass.co.uk Golf+ Kelsey Publishing Group PO Box 978 Peterborough PE1 9FL www.thegolf.co.uk I Love Bass www.ilovebass.co.uk Canavans Autocentre 2 Lough Road Lurgan Co. is this at the king`s hall where balmoral show is held??? where`s the best place to park???
Yes Rab, it's held in the Showgrounds, not in the actual Kings Hall. We have some of the sheds to the rear of the main hall. Parking is available within the grounds but please be aware they will charge you £4 for it, as in Kings Hall staff, we will then charge you £3 to get into the show.

Will Rocco / Raddo be split into seperate classes if big number of cars? Not that I'm looking for or likely to win anything but we're trying to get a good rocco turnout from the register on the day and atm if everyone makes it be 10 at least

Yes Jim if numbers warrant it there will be 2 separate categories.

I don't know if that's sensible though. Look at the MK4 golf and mk2 golf categories. They'll out-number the roccos and the rados several times over but they're still 1 category each, just like the booted stuff as well.
