How to reset the service indicator on a Passat B6 (2005 on)

Recommended Posts

My Daily's approaching 4 years old and I no longer take it to a VW dealer for servicing. To reset the service indicator yourself after a non-franchised garage has done the work just follow the steps below... 1) Hold down the wrench button (right hand of the trip reset button). 2) While holding the wrench button, turn on the ignition. 3) The computer will now show something like: 'Service Now'. 4) Release the wrench button. 5) Now, press and release the min (right hand of the h button). 6) Turn off the ignition. 7) Done - In my experience usually resets to '9400 miles'

Just for the record, same process for Mk4 and Mk5 golfs, only instead of the wrench button, you hold the mileage reset... I did Suzies Beetle the other week, forget the process as its a different kind of Binnacle, will post when i remember again :)
