Porsche Front Airlift or Front Axle Lift as they call it

Recommended Posts

After all the controversy which surrounded the GTINI Dubshed Teaser Video featuring John Pedens 964 on Hydraulics maybe he was on the right track despite the rumblings and cries of sacrilege from some quarters.

I only recently found out that last year Porsche introduced what they call the "Front Axle Lift" to lift the 911 nose by 40mm to accommodate kerbs, ramps and car park entrances. It's essentially an air kit for the front of the vehicle with electronic control to allow the driver to raise the front by 40mm as shown in this video.

Some Porsche owners have reported the price of replacing this system with the genuine Porsche product in the region of £10k  on the latest 911 with specialist companies such as Techart and Cargraphic coming in at around £4.5k.

I would guess its the same system as used on the Lamborghini's with it being another of the VAG brands. Seems even supercar air ride is a pricey thing to have  but I doubt it'll ever be a worry for me.
