ABF coil earth strap?

Recommended Posts

My cousin has bought the worlds roughest mk3 with an ABF for a conversion, however it won't start. It's getting fuel through the rail, turns over but won't fire. I'd a similar problem on an 8v and it was the earth strap from the coil that had broken, however I noticed there isn't one on the ABF. Should there be? Hoping it's simple before we start looking at spark and immobiliser problems.

It's at the back right corner of the head at the top.  There's 2 or 3 earth points all bolted together with a 10mm nut.  That being corroded will stop the car running.  The spark and colour of the spark should be one of the first things you check.  Do that first or it'll be pointless looking at anything else.

If it's the worlds roughest MK3 it must be pretty bad.
