Clay convert

Recommended Posts

After years of the tried and tested polishing and waxing (and wearing my paint thin) I decided to give the old  clay bar a go this morning for the first time on the mk2. On what looked like a clean car I was amazed at the amount of gunk the clay picks up.

The super smooth finish is a big plus and finished it off with a bit of auto balm to keep things good.

If you're going to do a proper detail, a claybar is the only way to start the process properly.  Wash, clay, wash, dry.....and off you go from there.  When I had my black Mk5 GTi, it took about 30hrs in total to complete the whole detail.  A lot of effort, but the results are worth it.
