My brother and I bought a white one just like this for a track day at Bishopscourt; best money we ever spent and some days craic!

My old poor man's porka; they were always supposed to be a VW from the outset having been commissioned by VW who then got cold feet and sold the whole sheebang to Porsche. This is what the forerunner to the Corrado would have looked like but they went with the Rocco instead.

Here is another one of my favourites. Mercedes 500 SEL. I worked in a scrapyard in England for many years as a vehicle dismantler. One of the perks of the jobs was we could be insurance write offs cheap and put them back on the road for our own cars. Another one was every Friday we could buy 40 litres of petrol for £20, that we had drained out from scrap cars that had been weighed in. So we all ended up running 3.0 litre and 5.0 litre cars as we were getting the cheap petrol. There is no way I could have run a 5.0 litre V8 back in the late 1990's if it wasn't for the cheap petrol at work. It was a lovely to drive, and the automatic box was so smooth it was like one long gear from first to fifth. Back in 1988 this car cost £96,000, it was more than a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow at the time. I bought it from the scrapyard where I worked after it had been keyed and written off by the insurers for £1500.

That is class.
