  1. Im with Paul on his comments, by far the best static show in the country, i havn't been for a number of years, but the super slick running of this show really does stand out, there really is something there for everyone, not just 300 cars that ( contrary to popular belief ) all look the same, if you look with your eyes, its amazing what you will find. I will certainly be back again next year, huge thumbs up.
  2. This coming Sunday folks, last drag of the year. Run by the Honda Haven guys but there are plenty of us vw guys racing. Brian wilkinson Beetle Dave Wheatley Beetle Liam neal Beetle Padraig Bolger Beetle John Kelly Pro Stock Beetle Padraig Kelleher Supercharged Karmann Ghia. Its a full field with a real mix of machinery, should be a good day. Dave has been up at the rollers and with some serious work this last few weeks, maybe, just maybe, theres an 11 in there somewhere. Cant wait to see the supercharged ghia make its first run on the strip too, such a cool machine. So if your up to nowt, you guys know where to find us this coming sunday :-) Cheers Ben.
  3. Air Cooled Drag Day II 2014

I must say a big thank you and "Welcome" to everyone who attended from GTINI and our other water coolers who either hit the strip, the show n shine or just as spectators. Its fair to say for me that was a tough day, dosed with a chest infection and trying to run an 8 car ladder field with 4 classes for virgin racers was always going to be tricky, and it was. We got there in the end and all i can say is i have HUGE respect for all you guys for putting your cars and reputations on the line, many people outside of our air-cooled scene have been invited these past two years and not many have taken us up on the offer to race against us, so full credit to you all who laid it on the line, Andrew Robb walked away with the honour of being the quickest water cooler of the day with a stonking 13.3, no mean feat in a fwd car on road tyres. And Gethin, what a star, the man with unquestionably the most talked about car of the year having his first go at the strip, i think you made a great fist of it and just looking at the mph over the traps its is only just starting to get into its stride. Fair play to everyone involved thank you and roll on 2015. You guys need to get your own event going, we can provide a few cars to make the numbers up ;-)
  4. Air Cooled Drag Day II 2014

I'm glad you folks had a great time, my sincere apologies for the delay with regards to the finals, Andrew Robb, we can only apologise for human error on our part, i feel we gave you a disservice and please if anyone knows him, could you ask him to contact me either on here or Facebook. Andrew was meant to be in the final against dave wheatley, i'll be completely honest i thought he'd "Red Lit" in the previous round knocking himself out of the final, in fact i was adamant that he had red lit, it seems this was not the case and to that i can only personally apologise for ruining your day, and also causing such a long halt to proceedings. We also had another finals issue with the vans, where mark mcdaid red lit even though his bus never moved, which meant we had to run the race again, bringing pat best back to the start to line up in a van which was far quicker only to lose on the re run due to a spark lead coming adrift. Just to make it clear, we are sportsmen hence re running the final for pat and mark and again for Andrew Robb v's Dave Wheatley. I hope this clears things up and i also hope no one thinks i was trying to get 2 air-cooled cars in the finals, anyone who knows me would know this simply would not be the case, just human error on my part, and for that i cannot apologise enough, Andrew if you are reading this get in touch and i will send some goodies out to you. Regards and thank you to gtini for all your support. Ben.

Hi folks, my sincere apologies for not replying to some emails, i hope everyone who needed a response has got one, if you haven't then let me know. As stated previously, on the gate day entry is £10 per person. Thanks. Ben.

Phew, thats the racers sorted, on to the next part!!

We have a special treat for you all. Barnaby is bringing the "Barn Stormer" to town for our event. Nowhere in Ireland would you see this monster run, true 8 second potential, although he wont be making full power passes as the track wont support it, he will however be doing full rolling smoky ass burnouts and full power passes to the 8th. JUST FOR OUR ENTERTAINMENT!!! Its costing him a small fortune in travelling and race fuel so make sure you show him full support on the day!!!! It has taken a whole year to get Barnaby to commit, and im sure glad he has!!!
