  1. Hi, the story goes, I sold my MK2 golf gti before I moved to Australia in early 2014. just wondering if anybody knows of its whereabouts? having checked online, it's last mot expired in Nov 2014, meaning it was never motd again after I sold it. 1990 big bumper model. White 3 door it was on either graphite RAs or G60s when it changed hands. would be interested in buying it back if it's still in one piece. thanks
  2. New work van, couple more pics added.

what is it that needs custom made mate? was your mates standard? colour? cheers.
  3. no its not the new shape caddy, sorry! but anyway, needed a pretty big and economic van thats capable of carrying a few bikes... you know, like a toyota hiace or transit etc. then seen a few of these on ebay and couldnt resist i have loads of pics but when i saved them from ebay they all save as tiny thumbnails  basically its got a few scabs on the (from what ive seen) usual places nasty dent on driver side wing 1.6 8v 45,000 miles with history 1 previous owner blah blah plans are slammed on coilies decide on some nice 14/15/16's? sort out dents and rust scabs what coilovers fit it? is it true seats from a MK3 golf will fit straight in?
  4. sorry buddy ive decided to keep her as she is for the mean time.
  5. ive taken a notion to spray my car matte black, i want to do this on a low a budget as possible. jus really looking for some advice from someone who has done this before? looking to leave the windows in by the way
  6. a MK2 as a daily driver...

cheers for all the replies, thinking i might take the plunge and go for one, I jus dont like modern cars and have to agree that mk2's are the best looking cars on the road. always turn heads where ever they are and never look out of place. as mentioned, the creature comforts, i wouldnt worry about that, its part of the fun of owning an old car. what should i look out for when looking at these? what are definate no no's that i should walk away when i see?
  7. a MK2 as a daily driver...

can anybody tell me what life is like owning a MK2 as a daily driver? most likely.. GTi 8v 120k if im lucky its only an idea ive had but im put of by thoughts of my car being in the mechanics more than on the road, it would be the only car id have access to aswell.
  8. ok so ive got a MK3 GTi 8v and the power in it isnt quite what it used to be and the miles are clocking up, the thing is the shell is in very good shape, the interior is mint and it still drives 110% so i was thinking of maybe doing an engine swap to a 16v or maybe even a VR6. has anyone done either of these swaps before? can they give me some pointers on what all needs changed? does anyone know of either of these two engines for sale anywhere? im not a car mechnic so dont plan on doing any of the work myself so the one needing the least labour is what ill most likely opt for.
