    Yeah u where parked up beside got a bit of a chat with u. It's like everything else when u wash and polish cars a few times u get to see the warts and all but on the whole not to bad but will get the roll bar off and the bay sorted, that's the next thing on the list. Had a look at ur bora very nice had one few years back really liked it.

    Thanks for the offers on the caddy but think il pass!!! Lol if I sold it b in the dog house with the Mrs as she has a soft spot for it. Good to met u guys yesterday everyone I talked to and met made us feel welcome. Plus after seeing both ur mk2's it's put me in the notion for one!!! But think il have plenty on my plate with sorting the caddy out for for see able future!
  3. Hi Guys Great show today really enjoyed it (apart from sunburnt feet) lol Met a lot of really great people very relaxed atmosphere. Amazing cars amazing people and couldn't have been any better run just really blew me away. Think I met a few of the guys on the forum today. Was my first outing in the mk1 caddy ( metallic red/burgundy type colour)have a good bit of work to do to get it up to the standard I saw to day all I can say is roll on the winter till I get it off the road to get at it!!     Hi Guys Thanks for all the advice on the axle but iv got a guy to to do it the axle flippping for me hopefully in the next week just waiting on the new suspension and lower kit coming. Have got the wheels so all being well be good to go in the next few weeks then will be looking foward to Castlewellan. Last night was the first outing after getting insurance sorted I can honestly say after owning an orange st focus with bbs wheels on it that the van attracted far more attention then the focus ever did. Sorry the late reply on how things is going working away two weeks at a time but money will go to getting the van sorted Was trying to get photos up of the van but for some reason i couldnt not very computer literate!!!!! So any advice on that would b good. Looking forward to meeting a few of you guys hopefully soon. Ned
  5. vw mk1caddy help and caddy update

    Hi Guys Just quick update on the caddy front now the proud owner of a 1989 mk1 1.6 caddy all being well I'll have her home from England in the morning. Also its my wedding anniversary this weekend and having told the wife I've bought one!!!! Lol It seems to b a real clean so first thing get suspension and wheels sorted and I'm ready for the road. As soon as I get her home I'll post a few pics!

    Yeah have looked at the caddy forum and flipping the axle doesn't seem to bad to do but will probably get a bit if help with it. All bring well this time next week I'll have a caddy then can get cracking on the lowering side of this plus getting the wheels sorted for the summer!
  7. Hi New to the forum but looking a bit of advice on a few things! I'm as we speak trying to buy a mk1 caddy. I know they are pron to rot quite a bit especially round the loading bay but what else should I be looking for? Also I know I'm getting ahead of myself a bit lowering a caddy how hard is? Iv heard bout flipping the axle is this a hard job and is their anybody local who can do this? Any other info would be great! I'll keep u s posted on the outcome of trying to buy this caddy. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place! Ned

    Hi, Everyone Been few years since I've been on the site so just thought I'd say hi to everyone. Was at dubshed and I've been bitten by the vw bug again. So I'm on the look out for a mk1 caddy but finding one seems to be easier said than done. By the way great show at dubshed but in another way looks like going to the show is going to end up costing me money now iv been bitten by the vw bug again. Ned

    just home from ed38 this mornin unbelievable event. the cream of the european vw scene was out in force got to be totally honest blew me away the build quality of the vws on show. its going to be a long hard winter for me even to get my car in reasonable shape for next year. will get some pics up thru the week for u s all

    hi all new to the scene got a mk1 gti a few months ago just to drive over the summer but have been bitten by the vw bug so now its comin off the road for a few months gettin few bits and pieces sorted out so any advice would b much appreciated
