  1. Hi All, Its been a long time since I posted on here, but I'm hoping someone can confirm something for me. A lady at work had a low speed collision with a mk 5 golf, damage to her Bora was a puncture through the front bumper caused by the gents tow bar and seems only cosmetic in nature, I haven't had the bumper off to inspect the slam panel or whatever is behind, but air bags etc not triggered. She knows my background so I agreed to look at the gentleman's car, and the tow bar does seem to be offset from centre, with some marks on an inner panel suggesting the tow bar had flexed and recovered, but not snapped due to the impact. I'm just surprised that given the minimal damage to her Bora, that what should be a seriously robust tow bar could be damaged in this way! Can someone confirm that mark 5 factory fit tow bars are not bent to begin with!!? And any recommendations for someone cheap who could fit or straighten the bar up please in Belfast?
  2. Excellent, be right up, we can swap for the weekend! Hear it starting up periodically, some note of her.
  3. Saw that on the rado forum also, had a red GTII, loved it. I think it is a marmite car, its angular looks aren't for everyone. I'd definitely have a mk1/ mk2 scirocco if I had a garage big enough, the modern scirocco for me isn't a natural progression at all - namesake only.
  4. mk2 16v timing

google image search 16v kr cam gear timing btw
  5. mk2 16v timing

on the cam gears? its 2 circles that should face each other and line up with the top surface of the cylinder head.
  6. offensive stickers-legal?

people wear worse T shirts and don't get hassled, its easy peeled off if it raises the laws eyebrow.
  7. Corrado spoiler

could check the fuse first, they're switched live and share with glove box light fuse and some others from memory. If still stuck then most common issue is they seize, case of taking it apart and using a white grease to rebuild. I had one seize before. Other than that your into micro switches on the mechanism or the actual speed control unit. my money would be on sticky mech blowing fuse. there's a wee hand winder mech to get it back down if not fixing for a while.
  8. Syncro T25 getting there

  11. rust ,show me yours!

fuel filler cap when I first got car, inner panel was rotten too, note the accumulated mud on top of fill cap, always a rust spot on corrados - plenty more rust needed/ will need sorted mind in time too.

  15. Budget 2014 - Good News

will NI be able to buy tax monthly also from October 14 then? I don't like deciding whether I'm going have the car on the road in April or October, so a months extra tax without buying six would be handy.
