Ok had a go this morning, Removed clocks from dash which was surprisingly easy but remove battery terminals first, just in case, when I had clock cluster out I turned over an removed 4 tore screws from the rear, then carefully removed back cover an removed the clock assembly from housing. I turn it over so speedo was facing me. Ok needle was sitting at zero, no need to take off needle as needle sits on a smooth non splined spindle. Ok turned needle clock ways till I could feel it's limit an then I pushed it a faction future, then I returned back an it stopped roughly at +5 or +6mph no longer at zero. Now with the over seize wheels the speedo was reading about 10 % slow, so at 40 on speedo the car was doing 44mph an at 50 it was doing 55mph, now with my little mod it's 40 on speedo an 39gps, 50on speedo 51gps an at 45 it's spot on, tho at 30 on speed can is only 27 or so on gps but it's on the safe side for my daughter. So that's how I spent my morning. Hope this helps if it can be reset on computer. ??hi if any help give it the thumbs up

Ok have a wee MK4 golf SDI an car has over seize wheels fitted, speedo reading about 5mile slower at 50, now I got a 3rd party VAG.COM but doest let me into or where I want to go to reset speedo. Any ideas or anyone has the tech or know of anyone, just like to get it sorted as Daughter is starting to drive. All reply would be appreciated
  4. Ok have a MK2 golf with a reasonable good shell, have notice around the rear axle beam mount left side, just in front of is badly rusted / rotten patch /hole. Think underseal has craked an flaked in past an the good old salt has done its deed. Wondering should I drop axle mount an plate the whole aera or mayble need to both sides to keep axle level. Am not sure whats best to do an wandering had anyone done this sort of repair to a mk2 golf, all advice would be a great help as I don't eant to make a hssh of it.

  6. Yes most of us has done it more than once an sometimes it hurts when wee buy the wrong boots, yes went out today on a mission to buy, yes spend money an had no limit on budget. Now had sore feet an was'nt looking for wheels but was looking for good work boots, yes i spend more time wearing boots than sleeping in my bed, so i want good boots that's not going to cripple me to an early grave, they need a little style, have to be lite as trainers an last the wear an tear longer than a month. Now i have bought some crap boots in my time, but today i hope i got it right for once after going to 4 different shops, may be i should have posted this before i went shopping to get some advice but today i bought a pair of sterling Steel SS807SM work boots an with my broad feet they fit real good, So have to see how they going to perform an test for traction in wet, dry, off road an snow, an last off all how long an how many miles will they do.. so wondering what the rest of you recomend when its to buying foot wear an were to go, i got my boots in Armagh in wee corner shop in middle of town, should have got the name of it. One thing i learned today if your looking for a new brand of boots, don't buy them on line as the seize of boots vary alot between manufactures, boots that's too large is as bad for feet as being too small..... so whats the best safety boot on the market?

  9. 1.6 td in to a mk1

    i put a td in a mk2, just watch if you have to change the back engine bracket to suit the mk1 golf, i know the mk2 diesel turbo bracket is slightly different from the non turbo as the turbo bracket has a notch taken out of it to allow the pipe from turbo to oil sump, bolt holes is the same but you might have to buff alittle with the grinder, if you already have a diesel in your golf, then wiring shouldnt be much a problem an any changes is straight forward.

  12. ok i had a mk2 1.3 doing the same, has it been doing this more often in cold weather, mine was the air flow valve on air filter head not working, i tok the small pipe off going from carb to the vale on fiter head an then took pipe off the manifod to filter head, i put this pipe on outer end of the filter head that points to grille an other end to exhaust manifold, which will give you a constant flow of hot air, if this works its your air flow valve, send me your mobile number if you need more help with this.

    ok have 3door but i converted it from 1.3 to 16 td in march an was a fairly simple task, but still have no powersteering have a powering in a mk3 , but wondering would the steering rack would fit the mk2.
