  1. Thinking of getting mk5 Gti...

It was mainly the handling and the fact it was lowered it rubs on full lock to the right but I've been told only way to fix is to put standard springs back on but looks the part lowered, they are hard to find here in Northern Ireland with decent miles etc not too many about , the one I test drove has 86k which I thought wasn't to bad as 2005 car with fsh, it's from a dealer too so warranty with it etc, I really like the smaller things too , cruise control auto wipers etc so that's other reason I want to upgrade but I like to look in to things before I buy
  2. Thinking of getting mk5 Gti...

I don't want to rush in to it aswell as I always do my research , guess I would be best to keep saving and probibly go for a 2009 on words golf or something ? Basicly I want a little quicker car too as well as a newer one , just wasn't as pleased with the mk5 as I thought I would of , a few people told me the 1.8 t from mk4 is a really good engine and its in some Audis etc this is part of the reason I got the car last year
  3. I have a 2000 mk4 gti 150 remapped to around 190, after the remap I was over the moon with performance and fuel difference , but I test drove a mk5 Gti 2005 today 200 bhp, it didn't seem as much power as my mk4 as I thought it would have been allot quicker , the drive was better than mine and handling I know that goes without saying, but what I really want is a newer car as mine is year 2000 , are the 1.8 t engines better than the mk5 engines ? Which would be more reliable ? Insurance is only 20£ more to change over too ( I have been driving 1.5 years just )
