  1. Did you ever waver about selling it? Would be a shame with all the time and money you've put into it
  2. I'm really sorry I missed this - those Audi Coupes....
  3. Pleased to see that green Scirocco LXI 303 still about, I remember seeing it at shows years ago.
  4. As much as I love all the cars on show, there's something about a B3 Passat, possibly because they're so rare these days. My dad had one from new and it fell apart.
  5. That UVE reg Beetle is lovely, love the non-metallic "watering can" green. And that brown Audi 80, HIB, too - anything with an original NI reg!
  6. That orange mk1 Polo is a favourite of mine. Original TOI reg and dealer stickers from Stock Brothers still in situ. Got chatting to the guy last year at Titanic
  7. Lovely green Scirocco GTii there. Is that from up here or down south?
  8. Sorry I missed this.That blue mk1 Golf (swallowtail?) is a cracker
  9. That's a decent number - memorable but not too showy. Sure, say nothing and no-one will know. Off-topic - Kinsale, lovely spot. Took my Corrado down there last month for a blast. It started misfiring on the way back up again, but that's another story...
  10. What's the number prefix? (don't give us the whole number if you don't want!) My '82 Scirocco (now RIP) was English but someone at some point put a TOI plate on it, which bugged me, as that's from three years too early. AXI or BXI would have been more like it. The original plate was SAN 999Y which would have been great, but the original owner kept that.
  11. They restored one a while ago on Wheeler Dealers, same colour too. I think it's still available on Quest TV on demand
  12. Used to love Formula 1 back in the 1990s, but now the cars sound like vacuum cleaners, they start races under the safety car at the first sign of moisture, and that berk Hamilton wins everything
  13. I had a 1991 Rover Metro 1.1C with a manual choke and 13,000 miles when I owned it (in 2009). Great wee car, and capable of surprisingly fast cornering speeds!
  14. I'd be up for this
  15. Hi guys Does anyone have a car they're breaking with a functioning sunroof (with intact seal?) I need a couple of parts. This is for a Corrado but I imagine that most similar era VAG cars will be fitted with the same parts thanks!
  16. Forgot I posted this - I got sorted in the end anyway.
  17. Gilnahirk Tyres usually have a good selection, and the owner appreciates a retro VW. Very reasonably priced
  18. Maybe I missed it but you didn't necessarily say it was fuel injected. If it was an 1800 carb it could be set up issues with the dreaded Pierburg carburettor, or the wax stat needing looked at. could also be a fuelling issue, such as dirt/rust in the tank.
  19. Hi I have a horrible suspicion that my Corrado VR6's engine will need a rebuild at some point. Does anyone recommend anywhere in the Belfast/Antrim/Down area for this?
  20. going to try and brave it out as best I can. Spoke to the guy I bought it off and he listed a ton of work he'd had done, so I'm stumped.I don't have two grand kicking about for a rebuild anyway!
  21. Love Coupe S's - my brother had an FXI reg, Mars Red one from 1984. It was a rotbox but great fun to drive. As others have said, the font of the numberplates makes a big difference. I can't stand retro cars with modern plates - looks awful! I use a show plates mail order company for mine, although because my car is pre-2001 they are road legal.
  22. Nice one, super impressed by this kind of thing
  23. For the past two years I've had my car (1982 Scirocco in 2013, then a 1993 Corrado VR6) insured through Flux Direct, on mileage-limited classic insurance even though i only owned one car. But they seem to have stopped quoting for the Corrado when I use any comparison sites does anyone know of any NI brokers/insurers that would offer classic insurance WITHOUT me owning another car? Cheers, Rick
  24. just remembered this post - i got sorted in the end. I'm with Elephant at the mo,insured as my only car on a limited mileage policy (social and pleasure only). Was £376.Very unusual. Got it through confused.com,don't know if that was a special offer or something.
  25. Prices for 80s/90s VWs in anything approaching decent condition is going a bit mad now. There was a Corrado VR6 with 44k miles sold for over £10000 on eBay yesterday
