    So I've made a little more progress. I have the aftermarket air managment linked up with the factory system. I can use the 3 factory presaved ride heights but also over ride it to drop the car down, or lift a little extra for big speed ramps. The front could do with being a little lower, but I've sourced some second hand front struts from a B5 that I should be able to make fit, but not until after Dubshed. The let down with the wheel parts means it doesn't look like they're coming. Waiting to hear today what the hold up has been, but will probably be another week or so before they land. My brother recently purchased these 3SDMs for his own Audi S4, so thought I would try them on as a back up, don't think they suit the car at all, so looks like i'll be rolling the standard 20s. Boot build is all but compete, I should have the last bits of wood sorted this week. The he car has been left off with Matthew from Pure Shine in Lisburn to give it a good clean. Very handy for me as he's only across he road and I haven't the time or patience anymore!

    No used racing team Hofmann in Germany for mine. Was told 6-8 weeks. It's 8 weeks today that they were ordered. Getting a reply to messages is like drawing blood from a stone

    So finally have the air managment in and working. Boot build nearly finished, few bits of wood still to trim, but all wiring is in and finished at last! Have the V1 controller mounted neatly in the cup holder in the centre console. Tyres also arrived this week. But still no lips and barrels. After having my hopes lifted last week I'm still not getting response to my messages about where they are. Doubt it'll be worth taking to Dubshed without them.

    Finally got some tyres sorted for the new wheels. After being messed about by one seller I finally got a bargain of eBay. 4x 275/30/21 continentals with 6mm tread for £200. Don't normally go for part worn tyres, but with nankangs starting at £130 each I thought this will have to do!

    Thanks guys. There won't be much in the way of updates this week, just dropped it off with Pete at Paintworx to get a few bits touched up and the wheels centres painted. Hopefully wheel parts arrive start of next week, then it's all systems to to try and get it finished.

    Hi John! Yea I love the look of this, right up my street, but the phaeton is still one of the fastest depreciating cars currently on the market. I'd maybe have one once it's about 5 years old.

    Hello all I've been a member of the forum for several years, but rarely use forums in general anymore. After being asked by a few people to start a build thread for the Audi, I thought I would share with you my work so far. Nearly a year ago, I had my mind set that the Passat had to go, a decission I sometimes regret, but only cause things haven't gone quite to plan with the Audi so far. Eventually after stripping the car back to standard, it sold, and I was able to buy. I had been watching every W12, and a few V8 A8's for about 8 months at this point, so was able to pick up a good deal from a trader in Southhampton. A 12 cylinder car is never going to be practical, so I managed to get one with only 4 seats, a fridge, a fax machine, 3 TV screens, a DVD player, keyless entry and go, full heated reclining rear seats, upgraded LED tail lights and in a colour combo that I liked. First on the list of things to do was to get it a little lower. Shortened levelling links were purchased to trick the car into thinking what height it was. I managed to get the rear ones in back to front to start with. I eventually managed to get it sorted and had it sitting a little better. Next on the list was some LED interior lights. Next up was the wheels. I had wanted to make these wheels for some time. The A8 gave me the opportunity to build them to a spec that I didn't think would be possible. I bought myself some genuine 2 piece 19" Speedlines with the plan to step them up to 20" 3 piece wheels. A quick test fit to make sure the centres would clear the 390mm disks up front Once all the measurements were taken I finally placed my order. 2.5" lips and 7.5" barrels all round. But not 19-20 as originally planned, 19-21 step up! I've spent the last few months slowly working on my air instal. I wanted to use my old airlift v1 system, as it was very faithful and reliable on the Passat for many years. I had planned to couple it together with Zaetech's wireless controller (previously used in Design RMC's Audi A5). After building it all up, I realised my V1 wasnt as reliable as it used to be. I've managed to get it working, but sadly doesn't seem to want to work with the wireless controls. Both systems will work separately, but I'm struggling to get them to work together. Here's a photo of some of the boot build progress. As for the actual air struts, at the time of purchasing the car, nobody made a direct bolt in kit for the D3 platform. I contact Airrex and they were happy to help me build a kit, if I provided them with all the measurements they needed. Long story short, it doesn't look like it's going to happen anymore. Plan B however is to try and hook the aftermarket managment up with the Factory air struts. Will have to see how that works out. I'll keep this thread updated of how I get on in the weeks coming up to Dubshed!

    Can I ask is the wheel pcd 5x120 and if it is where did you get your adapters and how wide are they?!
  12. The inners are custom to add an extra ring, and the centre of the outer tail lights is cancelled so it also becomes a ring. It's known as skyline lights for obvious reasons. Then the lamin-x is added on. Ive also added factory door entry lights and footwell lights as well as swap round every bulb in the car for LEDs.
  13. When I ordered the wheels I thought the centres were dark grey rather than black. I've also looked at replacing the mercedes centres on them. Tail lights were done with lamin-x gun smoke and might change them to light tint. Not a massive fan of the murdered look and the car has alot of chrome as standard. My main aim is to have something that turns heads and something that hasn't been done before. The wheels, to my knowledge, are the only ones in the country. I had custom 8mm spacers made to get the offset and the stance I'm after. The AP coilovers were chosen for comfort, not ultra lows. The custom LED taillights are my favourite mod, but on a bright sunny day with cars parked all round me they weren't to be seen!
  14. It is an extensive list and I appreciate all the work that goes into organising such a good show. Would just love to see a list of the winners like it was done for dubshed. Also as it was my first show would love feed back on my car. What people thought, what would look good etc etc.
