  1. Castlewellan 2011

good work guys thanks for the great day out..
  2. The rad and fan from a mk5 is 3 and 1/2 foot wide I think and we have around 3 foot to work with lol. We have a plan tho but better not to say until we are sure it's going to work lol
  3. Not likey We started having a look at what space we have to play with for the rad and intercooler and boy is it going to be a tight fit, so should be fun seeing how it turns out. Going 2m to see a man about some fans and housing so we will take it from there.
  4. Hi guys small update to add on the progress to date... Today we made a bracket to house the battery on the car, we could have mounted the battery in the boot but thats to easy LOL.. so we looked at what options we had up top and came up with this........ (see pics below) We made a few of these to raise the tray up off the chasis leg.. Here is how they are looking from above 3 of 4 fitted.. Better angle of how they look.. Now fitted with a crappy 1300 battery, but you get the idea of how it will look.. again another shot of how it looks.. we are more than happy with the turn out.. Of course this will be sand blasted and given a nice high gloss black finish at a later date. In case some of yous are wondering why we fitted this on the driver side and not where it normaly would be on the mk2 its because we got plans for other there... More to follow on that at very soon. And as before all views and c&c's welcome..
  5. cheers guys... the both shafts on this box are equal length.. should be a better job than one long and one short, but time will tell.
  6. another small update to add.. 2nd drive shaft finished now, we are very happy with the end result.. see below
  7. thanks mate.. the second drive shaft was finished today and fitted looking the business. will get some pics up start of the week,
  8. guys sorry on no updates but here is another one for now.. Next bit of fab work was is a bracket made to house our power steering.. We fitted it were the A/C would have been, we think it was the best place to fit it tho some many disagree? As always all comments welcome. And as it looks on mounted on to the engine... (all lining up nicly D)) Mr TAB has been working on the drive shaft this week so hopefully get some more pics to follow next week.
  9. @pob aye there was a right we bit to come off them cant remember how much now off the top of my head.. @almostdub, thanks mate hopefully come summer this will be on the road.
  10. Got the correct welding rods there on sat so we made a point of getting one of the shafts ready.. Heres the end result, balanced and of course jointed.. C&C welcome as always..
  11. Dubshed Show 11th April 2010

hmmm could be on for this in the Cab tho its SORN'ed at the mo.. But cant see the MOT being a issue as i only did about 300miles from the last mot lol
  12. Hi guys sorry on the delay on getting back with a update.... But been busy with work etc and we did not have alot of spare time.. But heres the shaft now cut and ready for welding have to wait on some low hydrogen rods now just before we processed. End of day its a butt to butt weld but we modded it alittle by pointing one end and the other end we added a small hole for the point enter into (if you get what i mean lol).. Takes a bit longer to do but we feel it will be a better job than a flat butt to flat butt join. Rods should be here in the next day or two.. So more progress pics to follow then..
  13. Cheers Farmer, deff going to head down first thing sat morning. Also will check out Kieron's page.. start made on the dog bone mount last night wee pic..
  14. Kool, do they let you walk around the yard tho?? As long as we can go in and even point out we want this and that kind of thing, that would do the job lol
  15. Looking more for mk5 fresher stuff.. Need some bolts piping and pumps etc from a mk5 etc thanks for the heads up all the same on the mk2
