  1. Fault code readers / reset are pretty cheap if you look on the likes of ebay - that way you can reset it or find the fault code yourself? Think mine was £15, nothing special but does the job?
  2. Alloy wheel refurbishment

IC powdercoating had a stand at dubshed, very reasonable prices and good quality finish
  3. Looking good. What way did you wire up the solenoid on the boot? Would like to change from my cult plinth to a smooth OEM but how do you keep locking etc? Cheers, keep up the good work, I'll leave mine lying around some day you'll probably do more than I will in a year! James
  4. What have you done to your car today?

New headlights fitted (Hellas this time), new bulbs and MOT. Now, to split and paint them black or not. Hmmm....
  5. VR6 Project

    Cool, thanks!
  6. VR6 Project

Good work, getting all those mk3 / vr6 jobs sorted at once! Should give a solid project! PS. Where did you get the backing plates? I assume you're talking about the disc splash guards? Mine are rotten and letting the hubs down!
  7. My bagged Golf VR6

Nice MK3. If those wheels are for sale give me a shout!
  8. Just do them with plast- x plastic paint, done mine 3yrs ago with the intention of getting OEM ones, never bothered, Just not worth the price IMO.
  9. ABF coil earth strap?

^^ what he said. In the mk3 world we would call that almost show condition!
  10. MK3 Meet Sunday 15th

I see plenty of photos, missed castlewellan with work, wasn't able to get a swap. If theres a mk3 meet I'd defy be up for it. There seem to be more about on the roads lately, I think people are starting to come around to them a bit now you see a few really nice ones about.
  11. MK3 Meet Sunday 15th

Any word of another mk3 meet? Missed castlewellan with work today, would have been a great day for it too!
  12. Budget is about the 500 mark, don't mind spending a bit for quality but can't justify a big one for a car i'll only drive the odd weekend from next year if that makes sense. Gethin, I have to say I loved the handling on koni dampers /eibach pro springs, but would like it lower at the front and coils are probably the best way to go. The reason I'm swaying to ST is I can buy them through ebay.de.for about 525 delivered, they look like effectively kw v1s and have twin tube dampers and progressive springs - I'm keen to try the progressive springs as I hate the coilover rattle when they compress linear springs, maybe that's more to do with damping though (currently prosports ). Will maybe look into GAZ, have come across a few positive reviews, could allow upgrade to adjustable... winter bonus is well spent either way lol. James
  13. Only hearing good comments on ST. How they handle and longevity is more important than silly levels of low for me. Can't see me needing adjustable damping tbh, never touched my koni adjustable damping. From reading the specs can't see any difference with kw v1s. J
  14. Hi all, The looking at upgrading the coilovers on the vr6, thinking of either ap or ST suspension (no longer weitec but now called St), both made by KW. Given the current euro rates I thought it would be worth a look, found these which would be about £100 saving (awesome list them at £629, +£18 carriage) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kit-Suspension-Combine-Filete-Weitec-ST-X-VW-Golf-III-1HX0-2-8-VR6-Benzin-/381152855338?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_71&hash=item58be7b052a Anyone else bought over the net and experiences good/bad?
  15. Cheap paint job

Wee bit of overspray, otherwise great job, paid good money for worse! Lol
