  1. 16v jet

I found this a useful resource to work through things and test step by step: http://www.vwgolfmk2.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=25972 Copy and paste into your browser.
  2. MK2 GTI Restoration

Hi, as Ger16V says prices can vary a lot and it depends what you want. Have heard 8K for someone to do it for you if there is a lot of rust but it can be done a lot cheaper than that with some sensible farming out work options and doing a bit yourself. Mine is still out and about and up for mot on Monday and is certainly not perfect. I got a guy to spray a replacement tailgate and touch some of the other stuff up myself if it is not too bad. Good luck!
  3. What up Blud? innit Fam?

    Nice lookin wagon
  4. Newbie

Nice looking motors - welcome along.
  5. Belfast reg number

If the original plate is still on the DVLA database you can get it back. I did this with my mk1 and as pistolpete says it will increase the value of the car. Only took about a week.
  6. Charity Cars and Coffee Craigavon 24th August

This was a great show with some really interesting stuff - nice that the money went to a good cause too.
  7. Mk2 Headliner done!

That looks much better - good stuff.
  8. Newbie

Nice range of stuff there Paul! The 110 bhp golf was a great motor back in the day although most testers and rolling road operators always said most had around 120 bhp in reality.
  9. Project lol@mpg

Mega motor Nigel, nice to see another Corrado out.
  10. Hello everyone

Hi Damo, welcome along; was down at the Terenure show in Dublin last week and it was great.
  11. Bullit

Sweet; excellent film with the Mustang and Charger duelling.
  12. Another Mk1 vRS Octavia

That looks sweet; always wanted one of these motors.
  13. Back in a Mk3 Golf!

    Nice wheels!
  14. New here

Nice motor and welcome along! Castlewellan always a good little show.
  15. RELOAD Retro Apparel

Looks like quality stuff Nigel. Hope it goes well.
  16. What have you done to your car today?

I might have a used top spring plate you can have unless you are looking a new one? I always cover these in waxoyl when I am refitting.
  17. What have you done to your car today?

Bit of a marmite piece; they are certainly very retro but not for everyone! If you like it go for it - that's what I always do.
  18. What have you done to your car today?

LED's look good. Today I mostly fitted polyurethane hangers and the one with a chain inside to stop my Milltek hitting the rear beam on the mk2. Thankfully it has worked.
  19. Pistolpete's Mars Red Mk1 GTi Build Thread

    That looks pretty good!
  20. GTINI Stand @ Cars At The Mill 2017

When I arrived I identified myself as GTINI but they asked to put me outside instead. Actually this turned out to be ok as I got a great spot and was near the aircooled bus guys. Was a great show.
  21. New

    Welcome along, Polo driver perhaps?
  22. GTINI Stand @ Cars At The Mill 2017

Entries obviously closed now; if you need another car for the stand I would be keen to go.
  23. Dubshed 2017

Great professional show; fantastic that something of this standard can be run in Norn Iron
  24. Head cloths gti mk 1

Top Secret Evolution in Lisburn did mine and made a good job of it. Mine has the webasto sunroof so it was even more tricky than normal - not particularly cheap but if you want it done right...... Windscreen and side windows have to come out.
  25. Mark 4 V5

Sounds good - they are an interesting alternative; mine always got a lot of attention from the MOT guys as most were diesels!
