  1. 16v jet

I found this a useful resource to work through things and test step by step: http://www.vwgolfmk2.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=25972 Copy and paste into your browser.
  2. MK2 GTI Restoration

Hi, as Ger16V says prices can vary a lot and it depends what you want. Have heard 8K for someone to do it for you if there is a lot of rust but it can be done a lot cheaper than that with some sensible farming out work options and doing a bit yourself. Mine is still out and about and up for mot on Monday and is certainly not perfect. I got a guy to spray a replacement tailgate and touch some of the other stuff up myself if it is not too bad. Good luck!
  3. What up Blud? innit Fam?

    Nice lookin wagon
  4. Newbie

Nice looking motors - welcome along.
  5. Belfast reg number

If the original plate is still on the DVLA database you can get it back. I did this with my mk1 and as pistolpete says it will increase the value of the car. Only took about a week.
  6. Charity Cars and Coffee Craigavon 24th August

This was a great show with some really interesting stuff - nice that the money went to a good cause too.
  7. Mk2 Headliner done!

That looks much better - good stuff.
  8. Newbie

Nice range of stuff there Paul! The 110 bhp golf was a great motor back in the day although most testers and rolling road operators always said most had around 120 bhp in reality.
  9. Project lol@mpg

Mega motor Nigel, nice to see another Corrado out.
  10. Hello everyone

Hi Damo, welcome along; was down at the Terenure show in Dublin last week and it was great.
  11. Split Wheel Problems

So I finally changed up the car and got a A6 C6 Avant, brilliant boat. I bought a set of 19 inch Speedline Rims for it with the intentions of splitting and refurbing. Stripped the tyres today and began trying to split the rims this evening.  On the first wheel I got all the nuts out apart from two which I completely rounded and the centres seemed to be seized to the barrel. Anybody any suggestions on removing the two remaining rounded nuts and in general how to split a wheel easier? These clearly have never been split from manufacturing and are currently steeping in wd40 over night. Pain is an understatement!

I have never taken mine apart for this reason and even my local alloy refurbisher was reluctant to split them for me. Having said that there is always a way. With the rounded nuts you could try bolt extractor sockets if you can get a lend of some, a few light taps with a hammer always helps. However, there are plenty of guys on here who have done it for real so should be able to give some proper advice!

  12. Bullit

Sweet; excellent film with the Mustang and Charger duelling.
  13. Another Mk1 vRS Octavia

That looks sweet; always wanted one of these motors.
  14. Back in a Mk3 Golf!

    Nice wheels!
