    do you have the tool to adjust the metering head co% - just lean it out (anti clockwise) to near stalling then 1/8 turn clockwise for MOT

    It takes an age for the thermostat to open, it sit idling for about 15mins easily. Oil temp is a good indicator, its usually around 88 before it opened. My water temp on dash is a bit tempermental. Did you run it with the cap of the expansion bottle? Just run it to temp and keep topping up until fan kicks in. If you are really concerned remove top rad pipe and fill radiator from there, and also the head. Reconnect and start it

    I just used elring bolts and an elring MLS head gasket, both just got out of eurocarparts. Headbolts are for kr head&block. Mine is a 6a with the early kr head With all these 16v's we'll be able to have mini meet in the not to distant future!

    Strangely i had a similar issue with the Autotech cams being a tooth out when fitted to the 1.8 but that was due to the keyway being incorrectly cut which only found about 4 weeks later after a lot of head scratching! Timed correctly gained 15bhp lol ive been using obd rollers. Trying to get benchmark on kr cams before fitting the autotechs back in

    I know what you mean, ive a 2.0 6a with head done and 4 branch in my mk2 16v and im only aiming for 170bhp at the fly with it, currently at 157bhp but been having top end 4k+ fuelling probs so been working through it, the latest being metering head change today but need to get it back up to rollers to see what difference its made
