    Looking sharp!
  5. Pistolpete's Mars Red Mk1 GTi Build Thread

That looks more like a reaction - however with the epoxy mastic it isn't essential to precoat the bare metal with a primer of any sort although I did use Zinga as a primer on the wheel arches (area of most impact for stones etc) after bare metalling them. I see though that you are doing a process with the bilt hamber in stages so I get why you want to do this... Must be something on the steel that is reacting...
  6. Mk1 brakes

Possibly someone just replaced the discs with non vented versions they are maybe cheaper than vented. 256mm and bigger servo/mc is a sound upgrade really makes a big difference.
  7. 1.8 16v (KR) tuning

Lower fuel pressure. Remove inlet mani - acquire carb mani - bolt on carbs balance jet appropriately - apply smiles.
  8. Some pics from the Argory

    Good pics! Mk1 looking well!!
  9. Emerging from hibernation

@Jim - Can't make Sperrins run as that's the Tandragee 100 day.. @Pete no nothing really just park up and stick a chock behind the back wheel to avoid using the handbrake.... Started it every month or so and that's about it - the old garage is grand it is dry lined and the old floor was dpm'd then insulated and hardboard overlay so that keeps it snug.. Tin roof could do with work but plan to put up a new shed for a bit more space.
  10. Emerging from hibernation

Thanks Gavin - Hopefully get out and about more with it this year!

  14. Save them!

Great find! Look forward to seeing the progress!
  15. New mk1 addition

Sometimes the clips break meaning that instead of the wee drawer sliding out the whole thing pulls out so it may have been changed at some point with another without a lighter socket..
